Friday night, and I've finally pulled myself away from sewing & Mass Effect 3 long enough for this week's installment of--
Whooo! :D
Anyway, this week I managed to find quite a few "vintage-y" type things, which is always fun. I apologize in advance for some of the pictures...it's been raining like crazy the last 2 days, so the lighting's kinda crap. :/ First up!
A Snoopy bag from the 70's! I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a kid's messenger-style bag, or if it's supposed to be a diaper bag...I've tried looking for a similar design on both Etsy and eBay and came up empty handed. It was only a dollar, so I figured why not? I found out later that sadly, the zipper doesn't work...but it's still so cute (and hard to find?) that I didn't really mind so much. It's made of a vinyl material, so it's pretty sturdy. I might throw it up on Listia if I can't figure out what to do with it, heh.
Second!
An original Strawberry Shortcake "Lemon Meringue" doll from '84! I was surprised to find this...she was buried all the way at the bottom of a box of toys, and she was wearing some kind of glittery Barbie tutu. XD She did have her original socks/stockings, but that's about it. Her hair still faintly smells fruity, though, which also surprised me! I believe when these first came out, I had her along with Strawberry. She was cheaper than the Snoopy bag, but only by a penny.
The third:
I laughed when I picked this up out of the CD rack because the backside of it has a picture of Echo The Dolphin (which is probably one of the cheesiest games ever made, if you've never played it)...but when I opened it up, it was the Arcade Classics and Sonic CD instead! :|a Hmmm! I've tried finding info on this release (it has "NOT FOR RESALE" plastered all over it, so I'm not sure if this is a promo release or if it might've been bundled with something?) but haven't come up with anything yet...If anyone knows about it, I'd be interested to hear! I don't have a Sega CD System, but this set was a whopping .49 cents, so I bought it anyway. (I have a habit of picking up video games from thrift stores if they're cheap, since sometimes you never know what's worth money in that market. They could use a good cleaning, though.)
And last, but not least!
Ok, this one's not as vintage-y, but still pretty cute! This tote was the most expensive thing I bought this trip at $1.49. Not too shabby, considering totes like these are usually around $5 or more! And it's in pretty good condition, too. :D I love how the bow on her ear is shaped like a candy. Cute!
Grand total this trip: about $3.97 + tax
What do you think, guys? Worth it?
Ok, back to video games now! ;D Until next time!

Allie's Favorite Cars of the Now List
Yikes! Sorry for essentially going MIA -- this has been an incredibly stressful couple of weeks for me! I am in the process of planning a trip to New York City to see my favorite band, L'Arc~en~Ciel when they come to the states for their second show [ever!] in the US. Also, my car was recently diagnosed with a lot of expensive to fix problems, which has brought me to the point where I've been looking for other transportation alternatives [in layman's terms, I've been looking at really cute cars].
So, boring as it may be... I am bringing you a top 5 list of Cars I Want to Drive, Badly.
So, boring as it may be... I am bringing you a top 5 list of Cars I Want to Drive, Badly.
5. The Hello Kitty Smart Car
It's pink, it's tiny and easy to park and gets great gas mileage... but it also only seats two people.
4. Pink Mini Cooper
It's a wonderful shade of pink and it's a convertible. So clean and lovely looking.
3. Pink Audi R8
Wow. This car just screams fantastic. Or shopped. Perhaps both! Either way, I'm in lust with it. It's a little ferocious for me, but I think I could handle it.
2. Pikachu Car
The hybrid of adorable and functional, this particular Pikachu car looks much happier than other PikaCar models.
1. 2005 Subaru Impreza STI
Okay, this is a little bit boring, I know, and it's probably surprising in spite of my pink infatuation, I don't want a pink car. The white STI -- particularly of this year -- is just so damn cute. Seeing as it's a Rally car and the STI logo is by default pink... it's just a match made in heaven for me. 2005 is the year I graduated, but it's also the best looking model. And the most reasonable, as my current car is a 1997 Subaru Impreza.
And as a secret number 0...
Peach's Birthday Girl Kart from Mario Kart 7
[I'm the one sitting in it]
Cute, pink, adorned with a gigantic bow, and not to mention a built in propeller and glider? I'll take two, please.

Snow!
This week in Seattle it has been ridiculous! Snow, freezing rain, bad driving and power outages. The one highlight of all this snow? We actually get to build snowmen! Here are a few of my favorite snow sculptures...
D'awww, who can pass up some Miyazaki love? Cute Totoro family!
These ones are cute too!
Domo-kun and... is that Taa-chan? I'm sadly not up enough on my Domo knowledge to be certain...
I LOVE KITTY too!
So cute! I love Minnie's bow best! [Source]
Here on the Northern hemisphere temps are supposed to be warming up, but I'm content to drink a warm mug of tea and sit with a video game... as long as I can just look at it and not have to touch it (or leave my house!), snow is great!
